Previous conferences were held in 1995 (Zurich), 1998 (Lisbon) and 2002 (Orlando). In 2005, the fourth conference (ICWIM4) will be held in Taiwan, the first time for the conference series to visit Asia. ICWIM4 is designed to address the broad range of technical issues related to surface transport and weight measurement systems, providing access to current research and best practice in WIM, freight analysis, and related policy issues. It is a multi-disciplinary, inter-agency supported event. Papers related to recent progress in WIM are invited for presentation at the conference and publication in the proceedings. ICWIM4 has the following objectives:
